Betsie + Andy Wedding at the Beach Club Santa Monica maybe The Knot would like this?

Thanks again to Henry Chen and his terrific second shooter Jenny Liu for bringing me some awesome pictures from Betsie and Andy’s wedding at The Beach Club in Santa Monica!

Betsie and Andy were the winners of the Wedding Salon Great Giveaway back in September 2008! Henry and I were vendors at the show and we gave away a wedding planning and photography package to one lucky couple! Our winners were Betsie and Andy!! We were so lucky to get to work with them and to be part of their special day!

You knew from the get go that Betsie and Andy were a fun loving couple. They had so many ideas on how to make things enjoyable for their guests, from signature cocktails on the sand, to beachy-chic attire, a DJ that kept everyone on the dance floor all night, and finally the send off gift of milk and cookies!

I also have to give some extra love to Betsie and her friends and family from MA! Its always funny and awesome to meet fellow Bostonians out in these parts! Ok…back to the wedding.

I loved Betsie’s bouquet! It was composed of these beautifully lush pink peonies perfectly in season. The bridesmaids had a similar bouquet of peonies and hydrangeas, and the junior bridesmaids had really pretty green pomander balls.

The couple chose a color palette that suited the ocean, The Beach Club colors, and sort of a nautical blue with organic green, and a pretty pink. It was very natural to see these colors in combination.

There were so many personalized touches that really gave the wedding a fun, relaxed feel. The escort cards had the Santa Monica ferris wheel which was fitting since it has significance to Betsie and Andy. The cards were hand written for an extra bit of love. The cards were placed in a giant LL Bean sack that was filled with sand. We were able to use the bag and a couple of galvanized buckets to hold the cards for guests to pick up as they came through.

B&A details

How can we not mention the skateboarding groom and his best men? They skated in at the start of the beach front ceremony and everyone cheered them on! The groom was so dapper in his white suit with his blue striped tie. The ceremony was performed by Betsie’s uncle, who had everyone cracking up throughout. After a short ceremony the guests got to enjoy signature margaritas and some delicious passed canapes.  B&a details 3

The night went on with a lovely dinner, followed by speeches by Betsie’s dad, and the bridal party. Lots of people love Betsie and Andy, and you can tell by their loving words during their speeches.

I feel like I’m reliving the night just by writing this blog entry. What a happy and festive day! I wish I was back there again!
