My husband loves wine and so having a birthday with wine involved would be one of his perfect ways to spend another year celebrating his birth. There is this awesome wine bar / lounge near our home called Friends of the Vine. The owners, Fred and Tracy, are the two nicest people you’ll ever meet. They were VERY gracious to us when I approached them to plan my husband’s special night.
We pre-ordered a series of wines for our guests and arranged for delicious meat and cheese platters, and bread and dip. It was so much fun! My husband had a terrific time that night and it was super easy. The environment is very relaxed and loungey, just the way he wanted it. He had a stream of friends come in throughout the night to wish him Happy Birthday.

This was an easy way to get everyone together to enjoy as much or as little wine. If you like wine, you can set something up like this at home or a local wine bar and just host a few bottles for your friends. It doesn’t have to be expensive at all. I would recommend this as a nice pre-wedding get together, a cool section for an engagement party, or to host your out of town guests.
